Description: In order to share the works undertaken by NRSMS Team on road safety front in Nepal, NRNA NCC SKI Queensland organised a seminar with the interested members of the Queensland Nepalese community. The presentation covered two proposals.
The first proposal was on the Development of Road Safety Management System in Nepal. The second proposal was on the Proposal for Preparatory Works. Both these proposals were submitted to the Government of Nepal on April 23, 2015. The first proposal contains “Big Picture” of Nepal Road Safety management System and second proposal contains a few specific projects (low cost high benefits) which will be delivered as pilot projects. These pilot projects demonstrate how members of NRNA can contribute to improve road safety.
These two proposals were presented in the seminar for the benefit of the community in Queensland, following which community members can register their interest to contribute or get involved in the delivery of various activities or projects. The brochure distributed to the community members describes the proposal in brief and introduces its core members. These members are expected to provide technical leadership to the development of road safety management system.
Skill, Knowledge and Innovation (SKI) committee of Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) is currently considering initiation of this project as a platform for sharing skill and experience of non-resident Nepalese professionals with Nepalese counterparts and contributing to the sustainable development of Nepal.
Dr. Parajuli has recently returned to Brisbane after spending almost 18 months in promoting road safety proposals in Nepal. He shared the experience working in Nepal in the field of road safety and explained how every community members can contribute to this great cause.
